Born 1956, Tokyo, Japan. Fujihata completed his master’s program in 1981 at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Graduate School of Film and New Media. film and media. He prominently uses video and digital imaging in his sound and installation works. The first to use stereo lithography in his artistic practices, he is most recognized for his sophisticated interactive network installations, where his primary concern lies in the employment of multimedia technology to examine the possibilities for communication within virtual spaces. Fujihata currently lives and works in Tokyo.
